The New York Comedy Academy offers outstanding stand-up comedy and improv comedy classes for everyone from the absolute beginner to the seasoned pro.

Each class is taught by a professional NYC comedian and each New York Comedy Academy student will be given multiple opportunities to perform live in New York City.

Stand-Up Comedy 101

This stand-up comedy class is designed for the absolute beginner. We cover everything from how to hold the mic and construct a successful joke to how to shut down that annoying heckler. A graduation class will be held at the world famous World Stand-Up Comedy Club in Times Square.

Next class begins Wednesday, July 14th from 6-8PM and runs for 6 weeks
Class tuition: $350
Early enrollment discount: $300 (must sign up and pay in full by June 17th)

Aaron has appeared on Comedy Central, MTV and National Lampoon Television and Radio. In addition to training with legendary improv comedy guru Del Close, Aaron has logged thousands of comedy shows (stand-up, improv and sketch). In addition to being seen performing around the country, Aaron is the booker for The World Stand-Up Comedy Club as well as the booker and MC of The Friars Club’s Tuesday Night Laughs. Aaron has been teaching comedy to students all over the country for over 15 years.

Stand-Up Comedy 201

So you’ve got some stand-up experience under your belt? The New York Comedy Academy’s Stand-Up Comedy 201 is the perfect next step in your comedy journey. Delve deeper into your comedy persona, fine tune those jokes and prepare your first industry set. In addition to a graduation show, 201 students will also receive new talent spots at The World Stand-Up Comedy Club to hone their skills in front of a live audience.

Prerequisite: 201 students must have either taken 101 at The New York Comedy Academy or schedule an audition spot.Email: Auditions@theworldnyc.com to schedule your audition spot.

Improv 101

Not all comedy is written! Learn how to create funny moments, scenes and situations without a script with The New York Comedy Academy’s Improv 101 class. There will be a class performance after the last week’s class.
